Carolinas Communication Association Conference 2005

 

September 23 and 24, 2005

Charlotte, NC

 

This year's theme was “Cultivating Civility in Changing Times.” We stayed at the Hilton at University Place.

 

Our President was Steve Madden (Appalachian State), Carol Leeman (UNCC) was our 1st Vice President, Celeste LaCroix (CofC) was our 2nd Vice President, Lynn Cherry (CofC) as our Secretary, John Edwards (FTCC) as our Treasurer, Robert Westerfelhaus (CofC) as Annual Editor, and Elena Martínez-Vidal (MTC) as web manager.

Our key speaker was Mr. Willie Ratchford, Executive Director of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community Relations Committee.

Mônica Pombo (Appalachian State) was voted in as 2006 2nd Vice President.

Charmaine Wilson (USC-A) was voted in as 2006 Treasurer.
Kelli Fellows (Appalachian State) was voted in as 2006 Secretary.
Brandy Hinson from UNC-Charlotte won the Mary E. Jarrard prize for her undergraduate paper.
Earl Capps from the College of Charleston won the Mary E. Jarrard prize for his Graduate paper.
Christine Davis won the Ray Camp award for her paper.
Lynn Cherry from the College of Charleston won the Betty Jo Welch award.
